About Us

Friends of Grace Unified Statement of Faith

Friends of Grace Homeschool Cooperative is a Christian community of families who desire to educate their children in an environment that honors God and reflects the love of Christ. We welcome families from various denominational backgrounds who confess Jesus Christ as Lord, affirm the authority of Scripture as God’s inspired Word, and desire to disciple their children to know and love Jesus. We unite around the truths of the Christian faith as outlined in the Nicene Creed, and we seek to model Christian fellowship before our children by speaking the truth in love, honoring one another, and focusing on our shared confession of Jesus Christ as Lord.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7; John 13:34-35; Romans 10:9; Ephesians 4:1-16, 14; Hebrews 4:12

Core Christian Beliefs

In keeping with the historic Christian faith and the consensus expressed in the Nicene Creed, we affirm the following:

The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:26-27; Isaiah 48:16; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19

The Father
We believe in God the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
Genesis 1:1; Psalm 33:6-9,103:13, Isaiah 63:16; Acts 17:24-29; Romans 8:3-4,8:14-16

The Son
We believe in the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ—His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death for our salvation through His shed blood on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension, and His imminent bodily return in power and glory.
Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7; Matthew 1:23; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians15:1-7; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Peter 2:21-25

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the divine Helper who indwells, sanctifies, convicts, guides, and empowers believers for godly living and service.
Genesis 1:1-2; Psalm 104:30; John 14:16-26; Romans 8:9-17; Galatians 5:22-26

Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, authoritative in faith and life, and true and trustworthy in all that it teaches.
Deuteronomy 8:1-3; Psalm 19:7-11, 119:104-105; Isaiah 55:10-11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12

Salvation
We believe that humanity fell into sin and stands in need of redemption. Salvation is a free gift of God, given by His grace and received through faith in Jesus Christ. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Christ provides the only sufficient basis for the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God.
John 3:1-21, 15:1-17; Acts 2:37-39; Romans 1-10; Ephesians 2;Titus 3:3-8

Humanity
We believe that God created human beings in His own image, with equal dignity, value, and worth before Him. Scripture teaches that God wonderfully, purposefully, and immutably created mankind male and female as part of His good design.
Genesis1:26-31, 2:7-25; Psalm 8:3-6; Galatians 3:25-29

Marriage
We believe that God created marriage to be the lifelong covenantal union of one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy should occur exclusively within this union. We believe that marriage uniquely reflects Christ’s relationship with His church.
Genesis 2:24-25; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:21-33; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; Hebrews 13:4
